One open class for men, one for women. All sizes and ages of people welcome. Must be 13 or older for the open classes. We will have a children's contest as well. One class for girls, one for boys. 12 and under, no entry fee. We'll have a sign-up sheet for the kids during registration. The kids contest will be scaled down version of the first 3 events. We'll determine weights and such depending on the ages of the kids who sign up. Speaking of which...registration will be on October 31 at the venue from 9:30am to about 10:55am There will be prizes for the top 3 of each open class and a $250 cash prize for the winner of each one. There will also be prizes for the kids. Costumes are not mandatory, but they are highly recommended. We will have a best costume award for both men and women and $100 prize for each as well. Facebook Event Page: https://www.facebook.com/share/18UGuMT48c/ Equipment allowed for all events: Wrist wraps, chalk, elbow sleeves, knee sleeves, belt, grip shirts. Equipment not allowed for all events: tacky or stickum of any kind. Log Press: Athlete will have 60 seconds to clean and press the log for as many reps as possible. All adults will use a 12" log. Kids will use a small children's log. The log will be on crash mats and must touch the mats each rep. Athlete must choose the weight they want to use before they lift. One rep at the higher weight beats any number of reps at the lighter weight. Most reps with the most weights wins. If the athlete chooses the higher weight and cannot complete a rep with it, they will receive a zero for the event. Bring Out Your Dead Medley: Athlete will carry a body bag with a "body" in it (MMA dummy) 50 feet and put it into a wheelbarrow, then wheel the body 50 feet to a casket, transfer the body to the casket, then drag the casket 50 feet back to the finish line. Athlete will have 60 seconds to complete the course. Fastest time wins. Kids will use a smaller "body" and a smaller casket and will carry the body to the casket and drag it back, probably about half the distance the adults will do. Pumpkin Toss: Throw an actual pumpkin as far as you can. 3 tries to get max distance. Bonus points if it smashes upon landing. Mystery Event (Hearse): We're trying to obtain a hearse for the contest. If we do, we will have the athletes either pull it arm over arm or push it for about 60 feet. Fastest time will win in either case. Mystery Event (Stones): We're trying to get a set of Atlas stones to use for the event. If we can get what we need, we'll have a series of 4 to 5 stones. Fastest time wins. More details to come.
