The goal is to make the events not too easy nor impossible to do for each weight class.   Max Wagon Wheel Deadlift( 18”)-  This event will follow Wessels Rules. Athletes will start with hands off the implement.  Judge will announce weight on the bar and athletes may jump in when they want to attempt that weight. 30 second time limit per attempt. 3 attempts per athlete. If an athlete misses an attempt he or she is finished; if there's a tie the person who got the lift in an earlier attempt beats the other. Athlete's hands must be wrapped around the bar; no "finger tipping". Hips and knees must be locked out. Athletes must wait for the judge's down command. No lift / zero will be given for soft lockouts, jumping the down command, dropping the bar from lockout. Athletes must wear socks that cover their shins. If an athlete expels any bodily fluids while lifting, they will be responsible for cleaning the mess up. Supplies for cleaning will be on hand and ready. If attempting for a state record, inform the judge before lift. Allowed: straps, suits, hitching, wrist wraps, knee sleeves/wraps, belt Not Allowed: gloves, hooks, tacky of any kind, no bare feet Sully's Overhead aka Log Press for Reps: The Sully in question is James P. Sullivan from Monsters Inc. As strongmen and strongwomen this is the time to show you're in tip top monster shape.   Athletes will clean and press every rep. Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible. Strict press, push press, split jerk, and push jerk all allowed. Elbows must be locked overhead, and head through to receive a down call. DO NOT INTENTINALLY  DROP THE WEIGHT FROM OVERHEAD. IF YOU DO YOU'LL RECEIVE A ZERO FOR THIS EVENT. Log must be lowered and controlled to the floor.  Equipment allowed: Sleeves, Grip Shirts (No SC/OSG), Wrist Wraps, and Belt.  HIDE THE BODY aka ZERCHER YOKE CARRY   Time Limit: 60 seconds, unlimited drops Distance: 50 feet down, 50 feet back Scoring: Distance + Time The athlete cannot touch the implement until a start command is given.  On the start command of the judge, the athlete will pick up the yoke holding it zercher style and carry it 50 feet down.  Once the front of BOTH SKIS cross the line, the athlete will be cued to drop the yoke, turn around, re-pick to carry it 50 feet back.  The front of BOTH SKIS must cross the finish line on the way back before time stops.  If the athlete does not finish the total run in 60 seconds, a distance will be taken.  Athlete has unlimited drops.  A slide penalty of 5 seconds will be given to anyone who slides the yoke. We will be getting yoke heights when athletes check in morning of the competition. So please make sure you show up  before the rules meeting morning of. Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt, Grip Shirt (no OSG/SC Grip shirts)  THIS IS AN EVENT COMPETITORS WILL SEE AT 2027 USS NATIONALS.  Jack Skellington's Pumpkin Toss This an object over bar event using sandbags. Unfortunately I don't think we could get heavy enough pumpkins nor confident any of them lasting long enough for athletes to put over bar. So will sandbags will be used ranging from 75lbs up to 250lbs.  Each athlete will  pick 1 of the sandbag weights at weigh-ins, and this will be the weight you rep out during the event. It will be max reps in 60 seconds, the athlete will be responsible for getting the sandbag between each load (the volunteers will not be doing it for you) - this means the athlete can load from either side of the yoke, but will need to notify the volunteer at the beginning so the volunteer stays out of the athletes path. The cumulative weight will determine the scoring. Bar height will be set to 50" for women and 54" for men. If an athlete grabs onto the bar to help the weight over, this will be a "no rep". Grip shirts allowed.  All athletes will be permitted to see all chosen weights prior to weigh-ins closing. After weigh-ins are complete, no changes will be allowed. Example of scoring:  sandbag weight multiplied by reps in 60 seconds . object weights will be posted after testing. Athletes will receive an email and check this page for updates Mystery Event AKA Grave Digger The event is Dinnie Stone handle hold for max time. Athletes will have one weight in front of them and the other in the back. Judge will say athlete ready. Once athlete confirms with judge they are ready judge will say lift.  Athletes are can take grip prior to the lift command from the judge. .....
