Event 1: Max Conventional Deadlift Equipment: Cerberus USA Deadlift Bar Format: Wessels Rules, 3 attempts Scoring: Heaviest successful lift Athletes will have three attempts to establish a maximum conventional deadlift. The event will be run using Wessels Rules, with the weight on the bar increasing throughout the event. Athletes will submit their opening weight prior to the event. Once the bar reaches an athlete’s selected weight, they will be called to the platform for their attempt. Following a successful lift, the athlete will select their next attempt. The bar will continue to increase and will not be lowered. Athletes may pass a weight while waiting for their selected attempt. A successful lift requires the athlete to stand fully erect with the knees and hips locked out and demonstrate control of the bar. The athlete must wait for the judge’s “DOWN” command before returning the bar to the floor. A missed attempt ends the athlete’s event. The athlete may not take any remaining attempts after an unsuccessful lift. Their heaviest successfully completed lift will be their final score. Deadlift Standard Conventional stance only. Sumo deadlifting is not permitted.Straps are permitted.Figure-8 straps are permitted.Hitching is permitted. The bar may stop during the pull.No deliberate downward movement of the bar before achieving lockout.Athlete must achieve full knee and hip extension. The bar must be controlled until the judge gives the DOWN command.Dropping the bar from lockout results in a no lift.Equipment Allowed: Deadlift suit, lifting belt, knee sleeves, knee wraps, wrist wraps, straps, chalk. On the judge's start command, the athlete will clean the log to the shoulders and press it overhead for as many successful repetitions as possible within 60 seconds. After the first successful clean, the athlete may lower the log to the shoulders and continue pressing without returning it to the ground. If the log is returned to or dropped to the ground, the athlete may clean it again and continue. An athlete may also choose to clean each repetition if desired. Any style of press is permitted, including strict press, push press, push jerk, or split jerk. A successful repetition requires full lockout overhead with: Elbows fully extended.Knees and hips fully extended.Head through with the log under control.Feet returned to a parallel/control position following a split or staggered press.A clear “DOWN” command from the judge. The athlete must wait for the down command before beginning the descent. The log may then be returned to the shoulders for another repetition or returned to the ground and re-cleaned. No Rep: Failure to achieve the required lockout, lowering the log before the down command, or failure to establish control at lockout. Time: The athlete must achieve lockout and receive the down command before the 60-second time limit expires for the repetition to count. Scoring: Most successful repetitions wins. Ties remain ties and points are split according to the competition scoring rules. ********* Event 3: Sandbag Load & Vehicle Push Medley Format: 2 Sandbags + Vehicle Push Distance: 40' Time Limit: 75 Seconds Scoring: Fastest Completion Time Two sandbags will begin at the starting line, approximately 40 feet from the vehicle. On the judge's start command, the athlete will carry the lighter sandbag to the vehicle and load it completely into the bed. The athlete will then return for the heavier sandbag and load it into the bed. Once both sandbags have been successfully loaded, the athlete will move behind the vehicle and push it 40 feet back toward the starting line. Time stops when the designated portion of the vehicle crosses the finish line. Sandbag Rules Sandbags must be completed in order, lighter bag first followed by the heavier bag. Each sandbag must be completely loaded into the designated area of the vehicle.Bags may be carried using any style.Bags may be dropped or set down during the carry and picked back up.Vehicle Push The vehicle push may begin only after both sandbags have been successfully loaded. The vehicle must remain within the designated course.Athletes may use any body position against the designated pushing surface that does not create a safety issue.Incomplete Runs Athletes who do not complete the full medley within the 75-second time limit will be scored by implements successfully loaded, followed by distance completed on the next portion of the event. For example, an athlete who loads both sandbags and pushes the vehicle 20 feet will place ahead of an athlete who loads both sandbags and pushes the vehicle 15 feet. Any athlete who begins the vehicle push will place ahead of an athlete who does not successfully load both sandbags. Scoring Fastest completed time wins. There are no event tiebreakers. Tied athletes will split the points for the positions occupied by the tie. ********* Event 4: Sandbag Toss Over Bar for Reps Time Limit: 60 seconds Scoring: Maximum successful repetitions Bar Height: Women 12' | Men 15' The athlete will have 60 seconds to throw a single sandbag over the crossbar as many times as possible. The athlete will begin in the designated starting area with the sandbag on the ground. Hands must be off the sandbag until the judge gives the start command. On the judge's command, the athlete may approach the sandbag and begin throwing. A repetition is complete when the entire sandbag passes over the crossbar. The athlete may immediately begin the next attempt once the bag is available. The athlete may use any legal throwing technique. A throw released before the 60-second time limit expires will be allowed to continue in flight and will count if the bag successfully clears the bar. ********* Event 5: Atlas Stone Series Light Stone Series: 100-250 lbs Heavy Stone Series: 230-350 lbs Scoring: Most Stones Completed, Then Fastest Time Athletes will load a series of Atlas Stones in ascending order from lightest to heaviest. On the judge's start command, the athlete will begin with their designated starting stone and work through each remaining stone in ascending order. Each stone must be successfully loaded before the athlete may advance to the next stone. Athletes may not skip a stone. A stone is considered successfully loaded when the entire stone is supported by and remains on the designated loading platform. Stone Rules Stones must be attempted in ascending order.Athletes may make multiple attempts at a stone within the event time limit.A failed attempt does not end the athlete's event.Athletes may not advance to the next stone until the current stone has been successfully loaded.Tacky and tacky towels are permitted.Chalk is permitted.Belts, knee sleeves, knee wraps, elbow sleeves, and wrist wraps are permitted.Scoring Athletes will first be ranked by the total number of stones successfully loaded. Among athletes completing the same number of stones, the athlete who successfully loads their final stone in the fastest time will place higher. For athletes who complete the entire series, time stops when the final stone is successfully loaded. An athlete who successfully loads more stones will always place ahead of an athlete who loads fewer stones, regardless of time. *********
