Anyone under the age of 18 must have parent at check in and during the day of the event. Rules and EventsComp shirts will need to be worn for every event. 1. Max Axle Clean & Press Athletes will have 3 attempts to establish their maximum successful lift. The axle will begin on crash pads, and athletes will pick the axle directly from the crash pads before cleaning and pressing it overhead. Athletes can't touch implement until the "Go" command. A press will be considered good when the athlete shows control of the implement with it locked out overhead, with shoulders, hips, and knees stacked. All kinds of pressing are allowed, split jerk, power jerk, push press. Athletes must wait for the “down” command to be given when the judge determines the lift complete. If the weight is dropped from overhead without control, athletes may zero the event if judge determines it was intentional. Time cap for each attempt is 60 seconds. Weight increases for women will be 10 lb increments. Weight increases for men will be 20 lb increments. We will be using the Texas 2" Fat Axle Power bar that is knurled and free spins, unlike a traditional fixed axle bar.  Opening weights are 95 lbs for women and 185 lbs for men.  Equipment allowed: wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, soft belt, hard belt, knee sleeves, compression cuffs, chalk. 2. Deadlift For Reps: All classes will use Texas Deadlift bars. Athletes will start on platform, and on the ”Go” command they will strap into the bar on their own time. Athletes will receive a "down" command when knees and hips are locked out, with thumbs wrapped around the bar. No “touch-and-go” reps allowed. The bar must come to a full stop before beginning the next rep. Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible. There will be no split times on this event. Equipment allowed: hard belt, soft belt, knee sleeves, shin sleeves, compression cuffs, straps (figure 6 or figure 8), chalk. NO deadlift suits or briefs of any kind are allowed. 3. Wheelbarrow Run: This event will be a wheelbarrow run both forward and backward, for a 50 foot distance each way. Athletes will start at a line behind the implement. On the “Go” command, athletes will grab the  handles of the wheelbarrow, lifting the rear feet from the ground, then walking forward with the implement 50 feet, crossing a line, and then walking backwards 50’ to return it to the original starting position. Athletes are not allowed to touch the weights on the implement. This is a timed event that will also have a distance measured if the course is not completed. Equipment allowed: hard belt, soft belt, knee sleeves, elbows sleeves, compression cuffs, wrist wraps, chalk. NO straps of any kind are allowed. 4. Atlas Stone Loading Series Each athlete will have 75 seconds to load a series of 4 stones (3 for novice classes) to platforms of varying heights, with the lightest stone being loaded to the highest platform and the heaviest stone loaded to the lowest platform. Athlete will start at the side-end of the loading platform adjacent to the lowest platform for the heavy stone. At the “GO” signal, athlete will run over to the light stone at the high platform and begin their loading series. Stones must be loaded in order of lightest to heaviest. Stones will be directly in front of the platforms and will not require a carry. There will be a hole in the middle of each platform to catch the stone. It is the athlete’s responsibility to ensure that the stone is set and locked into the platform before moving onto the next stone. If the stone rolls off the platform, the athlete must retrieve it and successfully load it before moving onto the next one. Time will stop once the athlete loads the final stone, removes their hands from it, and the stone stays in place. This event will have split times for all stones completed. Platform heights: Women will load the first two stones to 48" and the last two stones to 44". Men will load the first two stones to 54" and the last two stones to 48". Equipment allowed: hard belt, soft belt, knee sleeves, elbows sleeves, compression cuffs, wrist wraps, chalk, tacky, spray tacky, tacky towels, stone sleeves, gauntlets, forearm protectors, and tape on forearms. We will NOT provide tacky!  There will be a dedicated tacky clean up station with a volunteer for removal of all tacky and tape wraps.  For any questions please feel free to reach out to the email listed below. If I do not have the answer, I will do my best to get in touch with someone that does. I will do everything possible to ensure we run a respectable competition that athletes are proud to be a part of. Kyle.banta94@gmail.com Sanctioned by Strongman CorpStrongman Corporation membership is required for all competitors and can be purchased online at https://strongmancorporation.com/memberships/. Please note that USS and Strongman Corporation are not the same, and you will need a Strongman Corporation membership for this competition. Nationals bids will be awarded in Open classes based on the number of athletes in each class as follows: - 1 athlete in a class: the promoter may merge the class with another class; if the athlete competes alone they will earn an invite by completing (i.e. not “zeroing”) at least 4 of the 5 events to the standards originally set forth by the promoter. - 2-4 athletes in a class: 1st place qualifies for Nationals - 5-9 athletes in a class: 1st and 2nd place qualify for Nationals - 10+ athletes in a class: 1st-3rd place qualify for Nationals Weigh-ins will be conducted in KILOGRAMS and there is NO "allowance" for clothing. For example, an athlete in the 64kg class must weigh in at 64.0kg or less. Athletes must weigh in wearing (minimally) a bra and underwear.
