About

Pink Martini is back with the show that brings triple the joy! Come see Thomas Lauderdale’s globe-trotting “little orchestra” as you’ve never seen them before. Featuring three of the band’s favorite singers and long-time collaborators, the Pink Martini All-Stars conjure up a mix of old favorites and new treats, glittering with the band’s unique brand of catchy classic pop, big band sound, and Hollywood glamour. Led on stage by NPR’s dashing Ari Shapiro, the soulful Edna Vazquez, and the sensational America’s Got Talent finalist Jimmie Herrod, these three vibrant voices present the global party that fans have grown to love, infused with a vital new spirit. PINK MARTINI After more than three decades, Pink Martini is an unstoppable engine of joy that continues to bring founder Thomas Lauderdale’s mission of multi-cultural connection and inclusion to legendary concert stages on six continents. Presenting a mélange of catchy old-fashioned pop, global color, foot-tapping big band sound, and Hollywood glamour, Oregon’s famous “little orchestra” performs music intended to appeal to everyone, regardless of age or background. The band features a dozen musicians sharing songs in over 25 languages, and collaborates with a wide variety of gifted singers in performance and across the band’s 10 studio albums. ARI SHAPIRO Ari Shapiro, one of the most recognized and trusted journalists in the US, spent a decade as a host of NPR’s All Things Considered and Consider This, reporting from the Arctic Circle and Air Force One. His honors include three national Edward R. Murrow Awards and Journalist of the Year from NLGJA. His memoir, The Best Strangers in the World, became an instant New York Times bestseller. He has also hosted Netflix’s The Mole and Wondrium’s award-winning The Power of Storytelling. A longtime performer, Ari has sung with Pink Martini and toured with Alan Cumming. Born in Fargo, he grew up in Portland and now lives in Washington, DC. EDNA VAZQUEZ Edna Vazquez is a fearless singer, songwriter, composer, and guitarist whose powerful voice and musical talent transcend the boundaries of language to engage and uplift her audience. She is a creative musical artist with a vocal range that allows her to paint seamlessly with her original material, an intersection of Mexican Tradicional, rock, pop and other genres. Edna’s passion for music and performance grew from her bicultural roots and, with songs deeply rooted in universal human emotion, she has traveled far and wide spreading her message of light, love and cultural healing. JIMMIE HERROD With “a voice like a beacon of hope” (Seattle Times), Herrod brings singular power and expressivity to his globe-trotting career as a singer, songwriter, and entertainer on stage and screen. Since late 2017, vocalist Jimmie Herrod has been touring with Pink Martini across the United States, Canada, Mexico, South Korea, and Europe. Herrod first came to worldwide prominence as a finalist on the NBC nationally broadcast television show, America’s Got Talent, earning the rare “Golden Buzzer” recognition from actress Sofía Vergara and returning the following year on the AGT All-Stars series. Outside of performing arts centers and jazz clubs, Herrod is regularly featured with major orchestras across the U.S., and abroad.
